Sin movernos de nuestra ciudad ya es posible viajar por el mundo. Caminar por una montaña nevada, desandar los senderos de un bosque o detenerse a contemplar la panorámica de un paisaje imponente es una opción que nos ofrecen los avances tecnológicos.
Claro que nada iguala con sentir la brisa en el rostro, pero poder observar en alta calidad de imagen rincones remotos del planeta es también una oportunidad. Gracias a innovadores proyectos de digitalización de rutas turísticas en espacios naturales, las excursiones virtuales nos permiten un primer acercamiento a esos lugares que tanto deseamos conocer.
A través del sistema Trekker de Street View, desarrollado por el gigante tecnológico de Google, se han mapeado lugares espectaculares y recónditos. En 2012 la iniciativa comenzó con el Gran Cañón del Colorado, las Islas Galápagos, Venecia, la Alhambra de Granada y la Pirámide del Sol en Teotihuacán.
Recientemente se anunció que también puede visitarse, pantalla de por medio, diferentes puntos del maravilloso Parque Nacional Sierra de Guadarrama, ubicado entre las provincias de Madrid y Segovia, en el Centro de la Península ibérica. 15 imperdibles rutas de este sector montañoso pueden observarse a través de imágenes en 360 grados disponibles en la web www.turismomadrid.es.
El proyecto sitúa a este destino natural al frente respecto a la cantidad de kilómetros digitalizados de pistas forestales, caminos y sendas capturadas por una tecnología basada en un domo de 15 lentes que registra una foto cada 2,5 segundos, lo que permite acceder de forma respetuosa y a pie en espacios naturales donde un vehículo no puede transitar.
Entre las rutas mapeadas del parque figuran la subida al Cerro del Cañal de Alpedrete, un paseo por el monte mediterráneo de Hoyo de Manzanares, el Valle de La Barranca de Navacerrada, la senda Victory en Cercedilla, la visita a los álamos blancos de Guadarrama y al circo glaciar de Peñalara, entre otros circuitos de interés natural y al alcance de un clic.
Natural walk with just a click
Without moving from our city, it is already possible to travel the world. Walking through a snowy mountain, retracing the paths of a forest or stopping to contemplate the panorama of an imposing landscape is an option that technological advances offer us.
Of course, nothing can match feeling the breeze on your face, but being able to observe remote corners of the planet in high resolution is also an opportunity. Through the Street View Trekker system developed by Google, the technological giant, spectacular and hidden places have been mapped. In 2012 the initiative began with the Grand Canyon of Colorado, the Galapagos Islands, Venice, the Alhambra in Granada and the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacán.

The project places this natural destination at the forefront in respect of the number of digitized kilometers of forest tracks, roads and paths captured by a technology based on a helmet with 15 lenses that records a photo every 2.5 seconds, which allows access in a respectful way and on foot in natural spaces where a vehicle cannot travel.
Among the mapped routes of the park are the ascent to Cerro del Cañal de Alpedrete, a walk through the Mediterranean mountain of Hoyo de Manzanares, the Valley of La Barranca de Navacerrada, the Victory path in Cercedilla, the visit to the white álamos of Guadarrama and to the Peñalara glacier circus, among other circuits of natural interest, with just a click.
