Para atraer la bueno suerte esa noche, antes del brindis algunos se atreven a usar la ropa interior al revés, otros dicen que se debe estrenar una prenda íntima de color rosa, o tal vez amarilla. Están quienes sostienen en usar una prenda roja para encontrar el amor verdadero.
Comer lentejas en Año Nuevo dicen que es necesario para la prosperidad y asegurar la abundancia en los tiempos que llegan. Otro ritual vinculado a los alimentos son las 12 uvas, hay que comerlas al dar las doce, una tras otra.

Por otro lado, dicen que para desprenderse de las cosas malas del año que termina es necesario hacer un muñeco con la ropa vieja y quemarlo.
