Atrévase a vivir una experiencia de adrenalina pura en una de las rutas más impresionantes del norte de Bolivia. En los increíbles valles de los Yungas de La Paz, a una altura aproximada de 3000 metros sobre el nivel del mar se encuentra el circuito Vertical Route, la única vía ferrata en Bolivia y considerada la más alta del mundo.
Este circuito vertical manejado por las comunidades San Juan de la Miel y Villa Ascensión comienza con un descenso de 15 metros a través de rappel o cuerdas en superficies verticales mediante un sistema de frenos hasta llegar al puente Tibetano.
Este es un armazón colgante de aproximadamente 30 metros de largo formado por un triángulo por el cual se camina por el cable central y los otros cables sirven como pasamanos y cumplen la función de cable vida en caso de caídas.
Se prosigue por la Vía Ferrata o caminos de hierro, tanto horizontal como vertical equipados con clavos, grapas, pasamanos, cadenas, puentes colgantes y tirolinas que permiten ascender a zonas de difícil acceso de la forma más segura y excitante para luego seguir en descenso por medio del Zip Line de 100 metros de largo, también conocido como tirolesa.
Este consiste en una polea suspendida por cables montados en un declive o inclinación, diseñados para ser expulsados por gravedad y deslizarse desde la parte superior del cable hasta el otro extremo tal como si estuviera volando por el increíble paisaje de esta zona y disfrutando del Zip Line más alto del mundo.
La adrenalina sube a su punto máximo con una caída libre en el Rope Swing, una especie de columpio creado con cuerdas que se balancean al atar el extremo de una cuerda a una estructura elevada. Se suele poner un nudo o un lazo en el otro extremo para evitar que se deshilache y brindar seguridad.
El recorrido de este fantástico circuito no requiere ningún conocimiento de esta disciplina porque se la realiza acompañado de guías experimentados, con la máxima seguridad y todo el equipo necesario. Incluso la edad mínima para hacer el circuito es de 10 años, acompañado o con permiso de sus padres.
Si llega a La Paz a bordo de Boliviana de Aviación le sugerimos partir a primera hora de la mañana, a las 7:30 hacia la carretera Chuspipata, a mitad del camino hacia Coroico donde se encuentra Vertical Route. A las 9:30 los guías brindan una breve explicación sobre el uso de los equipos y a las 10:00 se inicia el recorrido que puede durar entre 3 y 4 horas según el ritmo del grupo.
Con algo de ropa extra, buenas zapatillas, tenis o botas de montañas, bloqueador solar y repelente, la aventura está asegurada.
Vertical Route
Experience at high altitude
Dare to live an experience of pure adrenaline on one of the most impressive routes in northern Bolivia. In the incredible valleys of the Yungas of La Paz, at an altitude of approximately 3000 meters above sea level, is the Vertical Route, the only via ferrata in Bolivia and considered the highest in the world.
This vertical circuit managed by the communities of San Juan de la Miel and Villa Ascensión begins with a descent of 15 meters through abseiling or ropes on vertical surfaces by means of a braking system until reaching the Tibetan bridge.
This is a hanging frame approximately 30 meters long formed by a triangle through which one can walk by using the center cable and the other cables serve as handrails and as life cables in case of falls.
Continue along the Via Ferrata or iron roads, both horizontal and vertical equipped with nails, staples, handrails, chains, suspension bridges and zip lines that allow access to hard to reach areas in the safest and most exciting way and then continue downhill through 100-meter-long Zip Line the Zip Line.
This consists of a pulley suspended by cables mounted on a slope or inclination, designed to be expelled by gravity and slide from the top of the cable to the other end as if flying through the incredible landscape of this area and enjoying the highest Zip Line in the world.
The adrenaline rises to its peak with a free fall on the Rope Swing, a kind of swing created with ropes that swing by tying the end to an elevated structure. A knot or a loop is usually on the other end to prevent fraying and provide security.
This fantastic circuit does not require any knowledge of the discipline because it is accompanied by experienced guides, with maximum safety and all the necessary equipment. Even the minimum age of the circuit is 10, accompanied or with permission from their parents.
If you arrive in La Paz on board Boliviana de Aviación, we suggest you leave early in the morning at 7:30 am for the Chuspipata highway, halfway to Coroico where the Vertical Route is located. At 9:30 the guides provide a brief explanation about the use of the equipment and at 10:00 the tour begins. It can last between 3 and 4 hours depending on the rhythm of the group.
With some extra clothing, good shoes, tennis or mountain boots, sunscreen and repellent, the adventure is assured.
